Act of Remembering
Commissioned by lov.foundation and created by Colombian–Israeli artist Orly Anan, We Grow in Circles emerges as lov.foundation’s living myth—a ceremonial performance where ritual, symbolism, and collective imagination gather to form a shared Act of Remembering. The work grows from collaborations that braid ancestral practices with contemporary expression, inviting art to serve as a passageway toward empathy, connection, and expanded awareness.

philosophy & ritual
Rooted in lov.foundation’s philosophy, a constellation of six guiding symbols shapes We Grow in Circles and gives structure to the work’s unfolding. Conceived as a contemporary ritual in six acts, the performance moves between devotional offering and meditative movement, weaving mythology, symbolism, and embodied storytelling through a feminine lens. At its core lies an ancient understanding: growth is never linear—it curves, spirals, and returns in layered cycles. Each act is anchored to one symbol—the pearl, lunar white, the spiral, turquoise, the ladder, and the tree of life—forming six chapters in a shared journey of becoming. Together, they trace a passage where disruption yields beauty, pain refines into wisdom, and the human spirit continues its rhythm of rising, returning, and rising again.
Costume Design
Costume design extends these themes into sculptural form: fluid, monochromatic silhouettes inspired by Japanese aesthetics that hold stillness, breath, and transformation without words. Woven throughout the costumes are Kabbalistic letter constellations—ancient sacred codes that amplify intention and align the ritual with frequencies of healing, elevation, and purpose. These inscriptions act not merely as symbols but as gateways—tools that activate a field of deep metaphysical resonance.

blessing → preparing → sowing → watering → harvesting → spiraling back
As lov.foundation’s myth, We Grow in Circles stands as both personal invocation and collective remembrance—a call to honor the nonlinear, the intuitive, and the deep feminine intelligence that holds, heals, and connects. It invites audiences to trust the spiral path, where each return reveals a new layer of understanding, and where beauty, like the pearl, forms quietly in the unseen.

Premiere
The work premiered in London at The Roof Gardens in partnership with Feeria, a platform devoted to fan and kimono culture. Designed to engage the unconscious mind through symbol, gesture, and ritual, the performance reflects the foundation’s commitment to creating change by reshaping narratives at a deeper, emotional level. As We Grow in Circles continues to travel globally, it expands its circle of meaning, gathering new interpretations as it encounters different places, cultures, and constellations of people.
