Silk of Water is a meditative visual offering by Natalie Karpushenko, captured on a remote beach in Bali. Rooted in the symbolism of the spiral, lunar white, and turquoise, the photographs unfold as a quiet dialogue between body, water, and landscape—each image an invocation of feminine power through softness and ritual.
With its gentle force and symbolic richness, Silk of Water reflects the ethos of lov.foundation—where elegance and emotion, intuition and beauty, are forms of soft power.
significance
The spiral, a recurring motif, speaks to cycles—of water, of time, of transformation. It appears not only in the shells held and mirrored by the women, but in the gestures of their movements, the rhythm of their breath, and the way water flows around and through them. These are not performances but offerings—acts of connection, of becoming, of return.
Lunar white and turquoise form the visual language of the series. Lunar white—evoking purity, intuition, and moonlight—clothes and envelops the figures, blurring the line between skin and spirit. Turquoise, drawn from the waters and skies of the setting, holds the stillness of depth and the transparency of truth. Together, these palettes guide the viewer inward, toward a sense of calm clarity.
In Karpushenko’s vision, the feminine is not framed—it flows.
